Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer (Machine Design)

  • Encompasses all areas of mechanical design engineering including structural design, component design, mechanisms, and tooling
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Controls Engineers, manufacturing team, and customers to develop systems
  • Provides machine, mechanism, and tooling design along with drawing creation
  • Prepares drawing packages for manufacture and assembly
  • Collaborates with shop members prior to and during the build
  • Deliberates with Controls engineers to design for integration and select pneumatic components
  • Develop mechanical designs to solve production plant issues
  • Uses SolidWorks & AutoCAD to develop equipment designs
  • Develop predictive maintenance indicators
  • Supports legacy mechanical designs
  • Shares design methodologies and standards
  • Mentors less experienced design staff

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer (Machine Design)

  • Knowledge of raw materials and fabrication processes
  • Experience in drawing creation for assemblies and weldments
  • Technical creativity with understanding of mechanical functions
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to collaborate in team environments
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to customer sites
