Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer (Machine Design)
- Encompasses all areas of mechanical design engineering including structural design, component design, mechanisms, and tooling
- Work closely with Project Managers, Controls Engineers, manufacturing team, and customers to develop systems
- Provides machine, mechanism, and tooling design along with drawing creation
- Prepares drawing packages for manufacture and assembly
- Collaborates with shop members prior to and during the build
- Deliberates with Controls engineers to design for integration and select pneumatic components
- Develop mechanical designs to solve production plant issues
- Uses SolidWorks & AutoCAD to develop equipment designs
- Develop predictive maintenance indicators
- Supports legacy mechanical designs
- Shares design methodologies and standards
- Mentors less experienced design staff
Requirements For Mechanical Engineer (Machine Design)
- Knowledge of raw materials and fabrication processes
- Experience in drawing creation for assemblies and weldments
- Technical creativity with understanding of mechanical functions
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Competency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to collaborate in team environments
- Ability to travel up to 20% to customer sites
- Experience with SolidWorks & AutoCAD
- Ability to evaluate quotations, specifications, and documentation
