Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Data Governance Engineer to join their team focused on ensuring data compliance and privacy across Disney's media platforms. This role sits at the intersection of technology and data governance, working to maintain data integrity and security for one of the world's largest entertainment companies.

The position involves collaborating with Product Management, Data Tech Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and Information Security teams to ensure consistent and trustworthy data handling across Disney's ecosystem. You'll be responsible for building scalable solutions for complex privacy challenges while ensuring compliance with various regulatory frameworks.

As a Data Governance Engineer, you'll work on designing and implementing privacy solutions, developing monitoring systems, responding to legal inquiries, and maintaining data protection solutions. The role requires strong technical skills in data platforms and programming languages like Python and SQL, combined with deep knowledge of privacy regulations and compliance frameworks.

  • Assist in the design and lead the build out of privacy solutions to support consumer privacy rights processes
  • Assist in developing monitoring to alert for operational errors and work to resolve issues
  • Respond to legal inquiries for consumer data
  • Supports the maintenance of data protection solutions

Requirements For Data Governance Engineer

Python
  • 3+ years of enterprise experience with data and platforms
  • Subject matter expertise of consent management concepts and tools
  • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, SOX)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Experience with technologies like OneTrust, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow
  • SQL, Python, Scala programming skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
