Description For Database Engineer II

As a Database Engineer II, you'll join the Data Stores team in a fast-paced environment, building and maintaining highly available relational database systems across multiple cloud environments. These systems support DE&ET's digital media supply chain and consumer-facing products.

The role combines software engineering principles with database engineering to build processes and automation that deliver infrastructure efficiently and reliably. You'll be responsible for ensuring 24/7 availability of critical database infrastructure, implementing fault-tolerant solutions, and driving operational excellence through automation and best practices.

Responsibilities For Database Engineer II

  • Build, deploy, and ensure 24/7/365 database infrastructure availability
  • Leverage software development and automation for database infrastructure
  • Analyze, design, and deploy fault-tolerant, distributed database infrastructure
  • Plan and implement infrastructure changes through capacity forecasting
  • Provide database expertise through performance tuning and administration
  • Develop automation and tooling for operational efficiency
  • Build infrastructure for scalability and resiliency
  • Maintain documentation
  • Participate in live event support and on-call rotation
