Description For Dry Dock Systems Manager

Disney Cruise Line is seeking a Dry Dock Systems Manager to join their team in London. This role combines database management expertise with project scheduling to ensure efficient planning and execution of ship refits. The position involves managing the Amos database system used for statutory and compliance requirements in cruise ship operations.

The ideal candidate will work under the Senior Manager Dry Dock, taking responsibility for optimizing database systems, ensuring data integrity, and coordinating with various stakeholders including project managers, consultants, and shipyard teams. This role requires approximately 3 months of global travel annually, including full presence during dry dock periods.

Key responsibilities include managing the AMOS database for dry dock projects, providing system configuration guidance, maintaining technical documentation, and coordinating project schedules. The role also involves tracking progress, producing reports, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities For Dry Dock Systems Manager

  • Manage and optimize the database system (Amos) for statutory and compliance requirements
  • Ensure data integrity and define best practices for database usage
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, vendors, and shipyard teams
  • Manage technical drawings, certificates, and technical manuals in digital library
  • Create and manage reports for cost analysis and data stability
  • Coordinate project schedules and identify potential conflicts
  • Track daily progress and produce reports during dry docking
  • Post dry dock reporting and documentation

Requirements For Dry Dock Systems Manager

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
  • Experience in managing databases
  • Strong understanding of planning/scheduling and quality control practices
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • High level of knowledge and experience in Microsoft Project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule and travel
