Description For Lead Data Engineer

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their Subscriber Data Solutions team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining best-in-class data products that enable business teams to analyze and measure subscriber movements and support revenue generation initiatives. The ideal candidate will partner with business, analytics, and infrastructure teams to design and build data pipelines, identify data sources, design table structures, and implement automated data quality checks.

The position offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of Disney's media business transformation, contributing to products that reach millions of consumers daily through platforms like Disney+, Hulu, ABC News, and ESPN. Responsibilities For Lead Data Engineer

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex technical problems
  • Lead and contribute to data products and data warehouses around subscriber movements and metrics
  • Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data requirements
  • Design table structures and define ETL pipelines
  • Develop Data Quality checks

Requirements For Lead Data Engineer

Python
  • 7+ years of data engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles
  • Advanced SQL performance tuning skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with analytical SQL and distributed systems
  • Programming experience with Python/PySpark
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
