Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Content Experience & Delivery team. This role is crucial in building systems that provide data at scale to teams across Disney+, Hulu, and Star+. The position involves implementing reliable, high-request services that deliver data powering streaming user experiences across web, mobile, and living room devices.

The role requires expertise in designing and operating large-scale backend services, with a focus on JVM technologies and cloud infrastructure. You'll be responsible for breaking down complex work, setting project milestones, and driving alignment across engineering and product teams. The position involves hands-on coding, system design, and technical leadership responsibilities.

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer

  • 1+ years of experience with large-scale, high-availability backend services
  • 1+ years experience with Public Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of JVM services
  • Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, Grafana)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of asynchronous and object-oriented programming
