Description For Lead Software Engineer

The Lead Software Engineer for Disney's Photo Imaging applies practical knowledge of development and UX to design, develop, test, and implement software solutions that deliver "Magic" to our Guests. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be working closely with the Technology Manager and Lead Architect to make sure that all solutions are highly scalable, meet corporate standards, created to specification and delivered on time.

The role involves leading a team of software developers and QA engineers, mentoring junior members in best coding practices, and delivering complex software development projects. You'll work with Angular, Express, and Node.js to develop application functionality while ensuring high performance and reliability.

Key technical focus areas include:

  • Frontend development with Angular and ngrx/store
  • Backend development with Node.js and Express
  • Cloud architecture experience (AWS preferred)
  • API design and implementation
  • Unit testing and automation

Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer

  • Develops application functionality using Angular, Express and Node.js
  • Prototypes new application features using best practices
  • Performs code reviews to ensure product and design specifications are met
  • Owns the day-to-day activities of a team of software and QA engineers
  • Monitors project activities and reports progress
  • Designs specific components for projects and develops application specifications
  • Leads efforts around problem analysis and issue resolution
  • Produces accurate estimates and participates in project planning

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer

TypeScript

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years relevant industry experience
  • Strong proven understanding of Angular development technologies
  • Understanding of Cloud architectures and hosting solutions, AWS preferred
  • Experience in ngrx/store for state management
  • Experience with task automation and Unit testing
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must possess excellent business communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
