Description For Lead Software Engineer

Join Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology as a Lead Software Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of reimagining magical viewing experiences for the world's most beloved stories. As part of the CAST + ET team, you'll play a crucial role in building Direct-to-Consumer client apps like Disney+, Star+, ESPN, and Hulu. This position focuses on developing key initiatives for real-time workflow of interactive applications, enabling production teams to create engaging content and custom experiences.

You'll be working on projects that differentiate our coverage through high-end graphics and near real-time data integration, potentially leveraging AI and LLM technologies to enhance creative quality. The role involves architecting reusable solutions shared across all Disney products while working with engineers throughout the organization.

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer

Java
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field
  • Minimum of 7 years hands-on professional experience with Backend development
  • Experience working with significant consumer products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Java, Spring, Server-Side Technologies, Unreal Engine
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal technical supervision
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
