Description For Lead Software Engineer

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their mobile development team. This role focuses on developing mobile applications for ESPN within the Apple ecosystem using Obj-C/Swift. As a hands-on engineering position, you'll work with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, and various Engineers to build world-class Disney apps. The position offers an opportunity to work on products that reach millions of consumers daily through platforms like Disney+, Hulu, ABC News, and ESPN+. You'll be responsible for architecting reusable solutions shared across Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology apps while leading others in solving complex problems. The role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring both hands-on development and team guidance. Requirements For Lead Software Engineer

  • 7+ years of hands-on professional development experience with the Apple ecosystem
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Expertise of OO design patterns and concepts
  • Expert understanding of HTTP/S, APIs, and web services
  • Expertise with unit test frameworks and continuous integration systems
  • Solid understanding of architecture
  • Solid foundation and understanding of dynamic multi-threaded mobile apps
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
