Disney Experiences (DX) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their team in Celebration, Florida. This role is part of the SEAS organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences, working specifically with Disney Cruise Line. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-performance, highly scalable systems that power magical experiences across Disney's premier vacation brands.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing new software while maintaining existing systems. You'll provide technical direction for the DCL shoreside application team and lead a small, highly focused development team. The role requires expertise in Java development, cloud technologies, and modern software architecture patterns.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in developing highly scalable systems, with strong skills in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies. Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer
- Lead in the design and implementation of systems delivering high throughput services
- Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code
- Collaborate & troubleshoot in analysis and resolution of problems
- Lead efforts in sprint plan review meetings
- Interface with internal & external teams to define requirements
- Provide support to partner teams analyzing data workflows
- Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Develop technical solutions that meet specifications
Requirements For Lead Software Engineer
- Minimum 7 years experience in design, development, and implementation of scalable systems
- Expertise with Java development, including Spring, Spring Boot, and JPA
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and reactive programming
- Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
- Experience in programming with .NET Framework / .NET Core and C#
- Experience with AWS / Cloud based development
- RESTful Web API Development
- Oracle SQL server experience
- Full Stack development with focus on middle tier and back-end
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
