Join Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology as a Lead Software Engineer, where you'll be part of reimagining magical viewing experiences for the world's most beloved stories. As a member of the Flex Force team, you'll play a crucial role in building Direct-to-Consumer client apps like Disney+, Star+, ESPN, and Hulu. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale streaming platforms that reach millions of consumers daily.

You'll be working in a hands-on engineering role, collaborating with teams across Disney to architect, develop, and integrate business-critical features. The role involves overseeing complex technical projects, contributing to product designs, and setting technical direction for multiple product segments. You'll be responsible for developing technology strategies that align with company-wide initiatives and producing technical designs that anticipate future business needs.

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer

Java
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field
  • 7+ years of hands-on professional experience with Backend development
  • Experience working a significant consumer product that is currently available
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Java, Spring, and Server-Side Technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate in small teams and larger engineering organization
  • Ability to write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Understanding of product architecture
