Description For Lead Software Engineer - Front End

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Living Room Devices, Browser Based Device, Client Application Engineering Team. This role is crucial in building Direct-to-Consumer client apps like Disney+, Star+, ESPN, and Hulu for various TV and streaming devices.

The position requires an experienced frontend developer who can push the boundaries of what's possible on 10-foot devices and TVs. You'll be working with TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web technologies to create scalable and maintainable media applications that reach millions of global consumers.

As a lead engineer, you'll collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and engineering leadership to build best-in-class streaming experiences. The role involves mentoring junior engineers, implementing sophisticated user interfaces, and using data-driven approaches to improve product functionality.

The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of frontend development experience, strong leadership skills, and deep technical knowledge. You'll be working with technologies like TypeScript, JavaScript, React/Preact, and Redux, while dealing with the unique challenges of building applications for Samsung, LG, and other streaming-media devices.
