Description For Principal Ride Control Software Engineer

Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is seeking a Principal Ride Control Software Engineer to join their innovative team in creating world-class theme park experiences. This role combines cutting-edge technology with creative storytelling to develop safe and reliable attraction control systems.

The position requires a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of controls experience to work on large-scale, fail-safe motion control systems for Disney's theme park attractions. You'll be responsible for defining, analyzing, and implementing safety-critical control software using real-time operating systems, ensuring the highest standards of safety and reliability for guest experiences.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll lead technical aspects of ride control systems, from system definition and architecture to detailed design specifications and hazard analysis. The role involves hands-on work with equipment control, including motors, drives, sensors, and servo systems. You'll also be responsible for installation, integration, and testing of high-capacity, man-rated control systems both domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, proven leadership abilities, and expertise in C++ programming and ladder logic. Experience with safety PLCs, control theory, and theme park systems is highly valued.
