Description For Senior Mechanical Engineer

Walt Disney World Resort is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Planning & Sustaining Team at Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES). This role is crucial in providing engineering oversight for nearly 40 square miles of utility infrastructure serving the Walt Disney Company. The position offers an opportunity to work with a small team of highly trained engineers, managing mechanical portfolio projects and ensuring operational excellence.

The role combines technical expertise with strategic planning, requiring the successful candidate to review construction plans, develop utility master plans, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and manage capital improvement projects. You'll be responsible for supporting daily operations while also driving long-term infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Review construction plans for utility infrastructure development
  • Develop and manage utility master plans and technical specifications
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies on permitting
  • Support daily utility operations with engineering expertise
  • Review and update Preventative Maintenance work orders
  • Identify operational efficiency improvements
  • Develop short and long-term Capital Improvement Plan programs
  • Perform system condition assessments
  • Analyze data to evaluate system performance

Requirements For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Active registration as a Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 8+ years experience in industrial or utility mechanical system design
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited institution
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office
  • Knowledge of construction methods and ability to interpret design drawings
  • Ability to work in various environments including outdoors
  • Available to work outside normal hours for emergencies
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
