Senior Ride Project Engineer

Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is seeking a Senior Ride Project Engineer to join their innovative team. As the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research & development arm of The Walt Disney Company, WDI is responsible for creating world-class experiences across Disney's global portfolio.

The Senior Ride Project Engineer will lead a Ride Engineering team, taking responsibility for delivering ride systems on time and on budget. This role involves every aspect of ride system design & development from concept through testing and handover for innovative ride platforms with unique requirements for extreme duty cycles, high reliability, and inherent life safety.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading technical teams through design and delivery processes. They must be able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams including both technical and creative members, and be comfortable in dynamic environments where scope and requirements change frequently.

Key responsibilities include leading 'clean sheet' concept design of innovative ride systems, working directly with Creative directors to develop requirements, managing vendor relationships, leading technical design reviews, and ensuring all systems meet Disney's high standards for safety and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor's Science Degree in engineering and hands-on experience with equipment mockups, prototypes, fabrication, assembly, installation and testing. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
