Description For Senior Software Engineer, IOS/Android

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology (DE&E Technology) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for iOS/Android to join their team. As a member of the Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and sustaining technology that powers DE&E Technology's worldwide content production and distribution platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the successful implementation of solutions for complex technical problems with DE&ET engineering teams
  • Own the development and maintenance of one or more functional areas of test automation and tooling, execution environments, build systems, and tooling used across multiple products
  • Design and implement project features with input from senior engineers
  • Develop test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and reporting tools for flagship streaming mobile apps like Disney+ and Hulu
  • Lead development efforts independently or by mentoring junior engineers
  • Continuously improve systems, products, and services
  • Maintain documentation and provide training on automation tools and frameworks

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, including test automation
  • 3+ years of experience with iOS or Android app test automation
  • Proficiency in Swift, Kotlin, Java, or Node.js/TypeScript
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with SDLC tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git
  • Excellent communication skills and a self-starting attitude

This position offers a competitive salary range of $136,100 to $199,800 per year, depending on location and experience. Disney provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), parental leave, and education budget.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement a scalable and high-performing full-stack quality solution
  • Design and develop test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and reporting tools to support the flagship streaming mobile apps D+ and Hulu
  • Lead development efforts, either independently or by mentoring and guiding a team of junior engineers
  • Continuously identify and pursue opportunities to enhance systems, products, or services with each iteration
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for both end users and project contributors
