Description For Software Engineer II (C++/Rust)

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Living Room Devices, Native Client Platform Rust Client Application Engineering Team. This role focuses on building Direct-to-Consumer client apps like Disney+, Star+, ESPN, and Hulu for various devices using Rust programming language.

The position requires strong expertise in C/C++ and Rust, with experience in cross-platform development. You'll be working on pushing the boundaries of UX on custom in-house runtime to deliver optimal app experiences across devices ranging from set-top boxes to modern game consoles.

As part of the Product & Data Engineering team, you'll be responsible for developing world-class consumer-facing products that serve millions of users globally. The role involves working with streaming platforms, digital products, and experiences across major brands including ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, NatGeo, and ABC News.

Key responsibilities include developing new application features, collaborating with hardware partners, and working closely with the Native Client Platform Core engineering team. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of C/C++ experience, 1-2+ years of Rust experience, and strong understanding of chip architectures.
