The Sourcing Manager – Sustainable Textiles and Circularity at Disney will play a crucial role in implementing the company's sustainability initiatives and textile recycling strategies. This position supports Disney's commitment to reduce absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by developing and executing innovative initiatives to minimize environmental impact through design and production processes.

The role involves leading the company's 2030 Sustainable Materials objectives, including textile waste reduction and emissions reduction targets. Key responsibilities include piloting 3D sampling, implementing new textile recycling streams, and developing sustainable and innovative textiles for global product lines.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to influence leadership through change. They will work closely with Product Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams while staying current with textile technology trends and innovations.

Responsibilities For Sourcing Manager – Sustainable Textiles and Circularity

  • Create, research, develop, and source innovative sustainable fabrics
  • Design and implement Textile Recycling and Waste Reduction Program
  • Lead suppliers and internal stakeholders through change management
  • Design and implement tracking methodologies to measure impact
  • Communicate daily with vendors and fabric suppliers
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners

Requirements For Sourcing Manager – Sustainable Textiles and Circularity

  • 5-8 years of experience in fabric sourcing, textiles engineering or sustainability field
  • Experience with Gerber Technology Suite and 3D Technical Design Software
  • Knowledge of product sustainability standards and certifications
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Product Design or equivalent
  • Strong project management and executive presentation skills
  • Domestic and overseas fabric sourcing experience
