Description For Systems Engineer II Broadcast

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology (DE&E Technology) is seeking a Systems Engineer II Broadcast to join their Broadcast Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in supporting the DSS live ecosystem, working with large-scale complex broadcast systems that handle signal acquisition, processing, and normalization of broadcast signals. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge broadcast technology in both on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the evaluation, development, design, and operation of broadcast systems across DSS facilities worldwide. This role requires deep technical expertise in IP networks, video matrix routers, content metadata, and broadcast systems, both traditional and IP-based. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $99,900 to $133,900 per year, plus additional benefits including bonuses and long-term incentives.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer II Broadcast

  • Lead or aid with the evaluation, development, design, operation, installation, testing of broadcast systems
  • Provide feedback and technical reports on work progress
  • Utilize test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Assist with project research, operation, planning, and implementation
  • Work directly with engineers from internal and external stakeholders
  • Available for on-call support and occasional weekend/overnight maintenance

Requirements For Systems Engineer II Broadcast

Linux
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional Broadcast and/or IT experience
  • Highly proficient in English
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video backhaul and distribution
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio and video issues over IP networks
  • Proficient with Mac, Windows, and Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Experience with managing video and audio routing switcher hardware
  • Understanding of A/V signal flows and network topology
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
