Description For Technical Specialist - Telecom

The Walt Disney World Resort is seeking a Technical Specialist to join their Telecom organization. This role is crucial in maintaining and advancing the technological infrastructure that powers Disney's magical experiences. The position involves in-depth analysis, testing, operational engineering, and software configuration for all telecom systems across Disney Experiences.

As a Technical Specialist, you'll be responsible for executing content delivery planning, interactive device design, server upgrades, and testing new technologies. You'll work directly with technical vendors and collaborate across multiple Disney business units to implement and maintain solutions that keep Disney Experiences running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical and troubleshooting skills, with particular expertise in AV systems and network infrastructure. You'll be handling video servers, software management, equipment installations, and implementing video and interactive solutions across the property. Responsibilities For Technical Specialist - Telecom

  • Provide governance to the WDW Telecom program
  • Provide hands-on support for interactive installations, server upgrades, video installations
  • Provide onsite consultation to customers and ensure operational support
  • Prepare and present metrics on uptime, usage, trends, and opportunities
  • Manage replacement and backup parts for all installations
  • Provide level 2 support for Telecom devices
  • Partner with Resort Engineering Team and other departments
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting with field technicians
  • Manage vendor relationships

Requirements For Technical Specialist - Telecom

Linux
  • 3+ years in the AV/Technology Industry
  • 1+ years network switching and routing experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP Workplace, and Service NOW
  • Strong understanding of video and audio vendor applications
  • Solid understanding of enterprise video distribution support
  • Knowledge of network security standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate's degree in computer science or related field
  • Willingness to work weekends and/or after-hours as required
