Dispel is an innovative security solutions provider seeking a Solutions Engineer to join their team in Herndon, Virginia. This role combines technical expertise with sales support, requiring a professional who can bridge the gap between complex security solutions and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience, strong Linux knowledge, and security certifications including CompTIA Security+.

The position involves conducting technical demonstrations, preparing proposals, and working closely with both sales and system administration teams. You'll be responsible for explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and supporting the entire sales cycle from initial demonstration to post-sale implementation.

Responsibilities For Solutions Engineer

  • Work closely with sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions demonstrations
  • Conduct technical product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients
  • Utilize expertise in Linux and security concepts to address client requirements
  • Collaborate with system administration team on product features and enhancements
  • Prepare technical proposals, RFPs, and sales documentation
  • Serve as technical resource for sales team
  • Participate in sales meetings and strategy sessions
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitive products
  • Support post-sales activities including implementation and troubleshooting

Requirements For Solutions Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Linux-related certification/experience (CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA preferred)
  • 2-3 years experience as a Sales Engineer or similar technical sales role
  • Experience with Linux environments and networking/security protocols
  • Strong understanding of networking, cybersecurity, and communication technologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with military/government organizations & contracts is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to travel as needed
