Distalmotion SA, a pioneering medical device company headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, is revolutionizing robotic surgery accessibility worldwide. Founded in 2012 as an EPFL Robotics Lab spin-off, we've grown to over 150 team members representing 25+ nationalities. We're seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our mission of expanding robotic surgery access.

The role involves being the primary technical support contact for Distalmotion customers across Europe. You'll be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of our advanced robotic surgery systems, working closely with Commercial, Clinical Specialist, and Service Support teams. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and customer service excellence.

As our Field Service Engineer, you'll ensure our cutting-edge medical devices operate at peak performance, directly contributing to better patient outcomes. The ideal candidate brings 5 years of field service experience, preferably in medical devices, with strong technical troubleshooting abilities and excellent communication skills in both English and German. Responsibilities For Field Service Engineer

  • Install, support, troubleshoot, and repair all Distalmotion products
  • Coordinate and perform systems delivery and installation for new customers
  • Perform scheduled maintenance activities including system inspections and upgrades
  • Complete administrative duties including inventory management and reports
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users
  • Collaborate with Product Support, R&D, and Supply chain teams
  • Maintain customer relationships and system configurations

Requirements For Field Service Engineer

  • 5 years of Field Service Experience
  • Experience in Medical Device, international environment preferred
  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent training/experience
  • Experience in Operating Room environment and protocols
  • English: B2 level
  • German: B2 level
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Ability to lift 30kg and move wheeled objects up to 500kg
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills
