Software Engineering Leader - Developer Experience

dLocal is seeking a Software Engineering Leader for Developer Experience to lead a software development team and own their applications. This role involves building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications for major clients like Netflix, Amazon, Nike, and Facebook. Key responsibilities include team management, technical direction, hands-on coding, hiring, and cross-team communication. The ideal candidate will have experience leading remote teams, strong software development skills, expertise in Java or Go, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and proficiency with monitoring tools. Responsibilities:

• Lead week-to-week team planning and accountability
• Manage team members' career development
• Drive technical direction in projects
• Ensure scalability and robustness of applications
• Hands-on involvement in coding and project architecture
• Hire new team members
• Coordinate with other teams

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading remote development teams
• Strong hands-on Software Development background
• Expertise in Java or Go, plus JavaScript and TypeScript for frontend
• Experience building scalable applications
• Proficiency with monitoring tools (NewRelic, Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, ELK)
• Experience with critical applications (performance, scalability, security)
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and relational databases
• Familiarity with AWS and NoSQL (desirable)
• Test-driven development and strong understanding of Git
• Strong documentation skills
• Upper-intermediate English (Spanish is a plus)
