Description For Engine Electronics Software Engineer

DMV IT Service LLC, established in 2020, is a leading IT consulting firm specializing in tailored IT solutions, system administration, cybersecurity, and IT operations. We are currently seeking an experienced Engine Electronics Software Engineer to join our team in Mossville, Illinois.

The role focuses on developing embedded software for electronic control systems supporting diesel engine and battery electric/fuel cell programs. As an Engine Electronics Software Engineer, you will be responsible for configuration, integration, building, and testing of embedded software, as well as troubleshooting software or system defects.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in embedded C programming with at least 6 years of industry experience. You should be proficient in embedded operating systems, model-based development tools (Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow), and communication protocols. Experience with engine or machine controls development is highly valued.

Key responsibilities include analyzing software requirements, developing embedded software libraries, creating and executing test plans, and providing customer support for system troubleshooting. You will work closely with core software teams and process partners to ensure seamless integration across platforms.

Responsibilities For Engine Electronics Software Engineer

  • Analyze software requirements and develop embedded software library activities
  • Configure and build embedded software, and create comprehensive test plans
  • Execute tests using both manual and automated methods, and document the results
  • Set up and configure test bench hardware and software for system testing
  • Provide customer support for system and software troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with core software teams and process partners to ensure seamless integration

Requirements For Engine Electronics Software Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 6+ years of industry experience in embedded C programming and embedded control software development
  • Proficiency in embedded C programming and familiarity with embedded operating systems
  • Experience with model-based development tools like Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
  • Strong knowledge of communication software, protocols, CAN/SAE J1939, and Ethernet
  • Proficient in debugging tools and techniques
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python
