Description For Infrastructure Database Engineer - Senior

DMV IT Service, headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior SQL Server Engineer to join their Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) organization. This remote position offers an opportunity to work with a premier provider of IT solutions and staffing services nationwide.

The role involves supporting the Microsoft SQL Server Platform and databases as part of an Agile team. You'll be responsible for collaborating with architects, developers, and operations teams to establish and implement standards and best practices across MSSQL platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL Server engineering and infrastructure as code.

As a Senior SQL Server Engineer, you'll lead medium to large initiatives, develop new features, create documentation, and ensure the delivery of secure and performant solutions. Your responsibilities will include creating Runbooks, establishing standard operating processes, and conducting knowledge transfers to operation teams.

The position requires 10+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server engineering and 8+ years in infrastructure as code, with expertise in T-SQL, Python, and PowerShell. You'll work with modern tools like Ansible, GitHub, and Jira while adhering to SOX compliance standards.

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Engineer
  • Experience in Engineering Microsoft SQL platforms
  • 8+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, Python, and PowerShell
  • Experience with Ansible, GitHub, Control-M, Jira, and Confluence (preferred)
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance (preferred)
