Description For First Engineer

DOF Subsea is a leading provider of vessel and subsea services in the global oil and gas industry, specializing in ROV operations and integrated subsea solutions. We are seeking multiple First Engineers for Canadian Flagged Offshore Support Vessels supporting operations on the Grand Banks starting Q1 2025. The position operates on a 28-day rotation schedule and requires a passionate, motivated seafarer who excels in collaboration with both offshore and onshore teams.

As First Engineer, you'll report to the Vessel Chief Engineer and be responsible for managing mechanical installations, maintenance, and repair work. The role demands strong leadership in conducting Risk Assessments and maintaining crucial documentation like Engine Logbooks and Oil Record Books. You'll need extensive experience with diesel electric and hybrid propulsion systems, along with comprehensive knowledge of maritime regulations and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will possess Transport Canada Second Class Engineer Motor Ship certification, various maritime safety certifications, and demonstrated experience in offshore vessel operations. Strong technical expertise combined with excellent communication and organizational skills is essential. Responsibilities For First Engineer

  • Taking control of daily running of mechanical installations onboard
  • Planned and unplanned maintenance of mechanical installations
  • Leading Engine Room Personnel in Risk Assessments and toolbox talks
  • Assist in vessel bunkering
  • Engine room Watchkeeper duties
  • Ensure Engine Logbook and Oil Record Books are updated and maintained

Requirements For First Engineer

  • Post-Secondary Education in Marine Engineering (or Equivalent)
  • Transport Canada Second Class Engineer Motor Ship certification
  • STCW MED BS, PSC, AFF certifications
  • Marine Advanced First Aid certification
  • Valid Seafarers Medical
  • Valid Canadian Passport
  • Experience on Offshore Support Vessels with diesel electric and hybrid propulsion systems
  • Knowledge of ISM, Transport Canada, MARPOL and legislative requirements
  • Experience in management role or lead position within offshore industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
