Description For Frontend Engineer

DoorDash is seeking Frontend Engineers to build and maintain a large-scale 24x7 global infrastructure system powering their 3-sided marketplace of Consumers, Merchants, and Dashers. As a Frontend Engineer, you'll design and build beautiful, intuitive user interfaces for web applications to create the best delivery experience. You'll work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, collaborating with technical and business teams to solve key business problems with elegant technical solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Becoming a product owner for client-facing applications
  • Writing robust, highly tested, well-crafted code
  • Advocating for the best customer experience through technical and product decisions

Requirements:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility, progressive enhancement, responsive design, website performance, and accessibility
  • Experience architecting large-scale frontend applications
  • Mastery of web foundations: vanilla JS, HTML5, CSS3
  • Deep understanding of REST principles and experience with backend APIs
  • Experience with React/Redux or similar frameworks
  • Experience with documentation, unit, and integration testing
