Senior Staff Engineer, Data Platform

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join their Data Platform team, a crucial component of their data-driven organization. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure and innovation, focusing on building and maintaining the company's analytical data stack. The position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering, Data Platform, and plays a pivotal role in shaping the technical future of the organization.

The Data Platform team manages essential infrastructure components including data ingestion (both batch and real-time), data computation and transformation, various storage solutions (warehouse, data lake, OLAP), querying infrastructure, and data compliance, quality, and governance. The team also oversees Machine Learning Infrastructure, Experimentation Platform, Knowledge Graphs, and various Data Science and Analytics tooling.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll be entrusted with developing the organization's critical long-term technical roadmap. Your responsibilities will span from architectural decision-making to mentoring senior engineers, all while maintaining high technical standards. The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as you'll be building data-intensive solutions used across the company while thinking strategically about product vision and engineering excellence.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems, particularly in data-intensive applications. You should be comfortable working with various data technologies, including but not limited to AWS, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Snowflake, and modern programming languages like Golang, Kotlin, and Python.
