Description For Software Engineer, Performance Platform

DoorDash is seeking a Software Engineer for their Performance Platform team within the Developer Platform organization. The role focuses on building foundational components to enable DoorDash Engineers to measure and tune performance of their services/components.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining tools for performance measurement and tuning
  • Tackling significant technical challenges with high impact
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, external partners, and peer engineering leaders
  • Contributing to a growing company

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer on backend platform/infrastructure teams
  • Proficiency in at least one OOP language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, C++/C#)
  • Experience building and maintaining platform components at scale
  • A product mindset applied to platform problems
  • A focus on design simplicity and consistency
  • Problem-solving skills using software to automate or prevent toil
