Description For Senior Quantitative Data Engineer

DRW, a prestigious global trading firm with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a Senior Quantitative Data Engineer to join their MASS (Multi-Asset Systematic Strategies) team in New York. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-stakes trading environment.

The position involves leading the data build-out of a mid-frequency systematic strategy, working directly with Portfolio Managers, Quantitative Researchers, and Business Heads. You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing robust data platforms that power sophisticated trading strategies across multiple asset classes.

DRW stands out for its autonomous approach to trading, using its own capital and operating at its own risk. With offices spanning the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, the firm trades across various asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities, and Energy. They've also expanded into real estate, venture capital, and cryptoassets.

The role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $175,000 to $225,000 base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus. DRW provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k with employer match, and various insurance options.

Responsibilities For Senior Quantitative Data Engineer

  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Researchers to identify data needs
  • Lead the build-out of industry-leading data sets for trading mid-frequency systematic strategies
  • Lead implementation of data sourcing strategy, robust data pipelines, and data quality management
  • Own all data needs for trading purposes and implement processes for timely and accurate data delivery
  • Design and develop features using proprietary or industry standard models
  • Support the trading desk enabling daily efficient operation

Requirements For Senior Quantitative Data Engineer

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience building data intensive platforms
  • Prior experience working in a trading team with understanding of markets and systematic trading data
  • Prior experience sourcing and building high quality data sets for systematic strategies
  • Collaboration experience with Research teams and Quants
  • Experience implementing modern data pipelines and data lakes
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and performance-oriented environment
