This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic trading environment.

The position involves close collaboration with Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Researchers, focusing on building and maintaining sophisticated data platforms essential for systematic trading strategies. You'll be responsible for implementing robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and delivering timely, accurate datasets for daily trading operations.

DRW stands out for its autonomous approach to trading, using its own capital and operating at its own risk. With offices across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, the firm trades various asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities, and Energy in major global markets. They've also expanded into real estate, venture capital, and cryptoassets.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of experience in building data-intensive platforms, along with a strong understanding of financial markets and systematic trading requirements. You'll need to demonstrate expertise in modern data pipeline implementation and data lake management. The role offers exposure to machine learning concepts and the opportunity to work with unstructured data.

  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Researchers in identifying data needs
  • Lead the build out of industry leading data sets for trading
  • Implement data sourcing strategy and robust data pipelines
  • Own all data needs for trading purposes
  • Design and develop features using proprietary or industry standard models
  • Support trading desk enabling daily efficient operation

Requirements For Data Engineer - Systematic Trading

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience building data intensive platforms
  • Prior experience working in a trading team
  • In-depth understanding of markets and systematic trading data
  • Experience sourcing and building high quality data sets for systematic strategies
  • Experience implementing modern data pipelines and data lakes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and performance-oriented environment
