Description For Senior FPGA Engineer

DRW, a diversified trading firm with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join one of their trading teams. This role offers the unique opportunity to build an FPGA application from scratch for an existing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software and hardware interaction and will participate in the full development lifecycle of low latency, high throughput FPGA design.

Responsibilities include architecting and implementing new FPGA applications, facilitating software integration efforts, proposing creative solutions to overcome hardware limitations, collaborating with software/strategy teams, and conducting lab debugging and support for deployed solutions.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer/Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience in the field. Strong skills in RTL logic design (Verilog), FPGA design flow, and system-on-chip architectures are required. Knowledge of TCP/IP stack and on-chip networking applications is essential.

Responsibilities For Senior FPGA Engineer

  • Architect and implement new FPGA applications (synthesis, place & route, static timing analysis, documentation) from the ground up
  • Facilitate software integration efforts by developing new APIs and optimizing low level code
  • Propose creative solutions to overcome FPGA/hardware limitations
  • Collaborate directly with software/strategy team and other design teams
  • Conduct lab debugging and support deployed solutions

Requirements For Senior FPGA Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer/Electrical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in the field
  • Solid Hardware Engineering experience, especially with FPGA
  • Strong skills in RTL logic design (Verilog) and verification; 2+ years of experience writing Verilog
  • Experience in FPGA design flow including synthesis, place & route, static timing analysis
  • Experience with system-on-chip (SOC) architectures, memory & processor subsystems, networking, and peripheral interconnect
  • Knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and on-chip networking applications
  • Strong working knowledge of either XILINX or ALTERA FPGA design flow
  • Strong system level debugging and data analysis skills
