This position is responsible for offering technical guidance and support to field technical teams, ensuring all specifications of technologies and maintenance details are communicated and understood fully by the field maintenance teams. This is also a field position handling resolution of complex technical problems, assisting the Expert technician in finalizing solutions to issues in the field.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in choosing materials, equipment, and properties for mechanical analyses and repair.
- Understanding applied mechanics, mechanical & construction testing, and optical transmission to provide technical teams with diagnosis and assistance for complex technical problems.
- Supporting maintenance contractor teams regarding infrastructure maintenance industry standards.
- Serving as primary on-site technical adviser during maintenance assignments.
- Coordinating across teams and third parties to maintain quality standards.
- Ensuring vendor delivery occurs as specified.
- Interpreting detailed engineering drawings for equipment modification, removal, and installation.
- Providing technical support for cable placement, terminations, and splicing (optical fiber and copper).
- Implementing and understanding monitoring systems.
- Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on various equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Assisting in site selection and acceptance for new deployments.
- Coordinating with monitoring sections to improve team performance.
- Troubleshooting network failures and outages.
- Available for 24/7 on-call in urgent cases.
- Supporting disaster readiness and recovery efforts.
- Maintaining inventories and EMS/access control systems.
This role requires a BSc. in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Telecom Engineering (or related field), 1-3 years of experience in Engineering, ISP, or Telecom Maintenance, good command of English and Arabic, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent interpersonal skills.
