Description For Fiber Maintenance Engineer

Earthlinktele is seeking a Fiber Maintenance Engineer to join their Field Maintenance team. This full-time, on-site role is based in Najaf, Iraq. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the company's fiber optic network infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in material and equipment selection for mechanical analyses and repairs
  • Providing technical support for cable placement, terminations, and splicing of optical fiber and copper
  • Conducting preventive maintenance activities using precision testing equipment
  • Troubleshooting network failures and outages
  • Coordinating with various teams and third parties to maintain quality standards
  • Managing commercial wired and wireless communication projects
  • Performing mechanical and/or fusion splicing of fiber optic cables
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities
  • Supporting disaster readiness and recovery efforts

The successful candidate will have:

  • A BSc. in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Telecom Engineering (or related field)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in fiber optic cable
  • Strong skills in using MS Office and leading teams
  • Excellent decision-making abilities
  • ITIL certification (preferred)

Responsibilities For Fiber Maintenance Engineer

  • Assist in choosing materials, equipment and properties for mechanical analyses and repair
  • Provide technical support for cable placement, terminations, and splicing of optical fiber and copper
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities using precision testing equipment

Requirements For Fiber Maintenance Engineer

Linux
