Description For Senior Data Engineer

Ebury, a leading FinTech firm, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Platform Engineering team in Madrid. As part of the strategic growth plan, you'll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining Ebury's Data Warehouse. Your responsibilities will include building ETLs and data pipelines, providing clean data for analysis, developing data models, and automating solutions. You'll work with a modern data stack including Google Cloud Platform, Apache Airflow, Docker, dbt, and Looker. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, proficiency in SQL and Python, and familiarity with dimensional modeling concepts. Responsibilities For Senior Data Engineer

  • Establish performance monitoring for data processing and analysis
  • Participate in data modeling reviews and discussions
  • Work on reducing technical debt
  • Implement data governance policies
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders
  • Automate data ingestion, transformation, testing and integration processes
  • Evaluate and integrate new data tools and technologies
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation
  • Collaborate with team members to reinforce best practices

Requirements For Senior Data Engineer

Python
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling/data warehousing concepts
  • Basic understanding of data governance practices
  • Experience with software engineering practices in data
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data quality
  • Fluency in English (Spanish, a plus)
