Description For Site Reliability Engineer

Edpuzzle, a prominent educational technology company with a decade-long history, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Security and Infrastructure Team in Spain. The tech stack is modern and robust, utilizing AWS infrastructure with CDK and JavaScript for Infrastructure as Code, React and Redux for frontend, and Node with Express for backend, following DDD and hexagonal architecture principles. The database infrastructure includes MongoDB and OpenSearch, with comprehensive monitoring through CloudWatch and Datadog.

The role combines technical expertise with a strong product focus, requiring collaboration across Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and other departments. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong AWS knowledge, and expertise in observability tools. Responsibilities For Site Reliability Engineer

  • Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS
  • Implement proactive monitoring and observability systems
  • Lead root cause analysis for production and infrastructure issues
  • Maintain infrastructure as code
  • Perform rotatory on-call service
  • Write technical documentation
  • Work with Product, Infrastructure and Engineering teams on technical solutions
  • Take ownership of problems and implement solutions
  • Communicate effectively with team members

Requirements For Site Reliability Engineer

  • Good knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), CloudWatch and Datadog

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK
  • Experience writing JavaScript, TypeScript or Node.js code
  • Product-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be based in Spain with work permit
