As a Data Engineer, you'll be part of a team developing our freight management platform for electric transport. This platform encompasses vehicle telematics, backend systems, transport planning interfaces, and machine learning models for energy consumption. You'll build data pipelines using real-time data from vehicles and logistics systems to enable actionable insights around sustainability and performance.

We're seeking an enthusiastic, humble, and creative Data Engineer who's passionate about creating elegant solutions to help the transport industry transition to electric. You'll work with cloud-native tools like BigQuery, dbt, Dagster, and Google Pub/Sub, while utilizing programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go. Your role will involve building high-quality data pipelines, developing data strategies, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer

  • Build high quality data pipelines to power dashboards, business reports and machine learning models
  • Work with external and internal data consumers to understand and predict their needs in terms of datasets
  • Develop strategy and architecture for collecting, organizing and leveraging data
  • Foster data engineering craftsmanship and mentor junior data engineers

Requirements For Data Engineer

Python
  • Extensive experience in working hands-on with real-world datasets
  • Fluency in modern, cloud-native data engineering tools (SQL, BigQuery, dbt, Dagster and Google Pub/Sub)
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java or Go
  • Eagerness to champion data engineering best practices
  • Experience with data engineering and data architecture in Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in setting up data flows with automated verification and error handling
