Element is seeking a Security Engineer to join their mission of transforming government service delivery through technology and innovation. The Security Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary, agile team, focusing on securing and enhancing enterprise government systems. Key responsibilities include AWS infrastructure migration, security compliance, and collaboration with DevSecOps Engineers. The position offers a remote-first environment with occasional on-site work (<10%).

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Information Security, Cloud/Operations Security, and Application Security. They should be proficient in threat modeling, security controls, and compliance frameworks like NIST RMF. Experience with AWS Trusted Advisor and security scanning tools is essential.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer

  • Perform migration of infrastructure from one AWS environment to another ensuring security and compliance
  • Mob and pair with teammates to design, develop, test, debug, deploy, and document software in a secure and agile environment
  • Work with other DevSecOps Engineers to build and maintain infrastructure with 100% automation of operations
  • Perform security code reviews and ensure security best practices
  • Ensure compliance with agency security and compliance protocols
  • Tackle technical problems and exercise full range of skills

Requirements For Security Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of experience as System Security Engineer or related position
  • Extensive experience in Information Security, Cloud/Operations Security, Application Security
  • Experience with AWS Trusted Advisor and scanner analysis tools
  • Familiarity with OWASP and ASVS
  • Knowledge of NIST RMF (800-53 rev 5)
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
  • Must reside in the Continental US
