Backend Engineer

ElevenLabs is seeking a Backend Engineer to expand the functionality of their system. This role involves building and maintaining the platform on top of cutting-edge voice models used by millions of users. The ideal candidate will have high degrees of ownership, shipping features across the backend stack, and collaborating with Frontend, Growth, and Sales teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Improving existing products to ensure they're intuitive, powerful, and utilize the latest research breakthroughs
• Maintaining and strengthening internal infrastructure for scalability, performance, and security
• Building integrations with common consumer/enterprise solutions

Required skills:

• Expertise in Python
• Strong background in backend development
• Familiarity with common software and system design patterns
• Knowledge of API, cloud infrastructure tools, storage solutions, and data structures
• Understanding of test design and security fundamentals

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Stripe or other payment processing providers
• Basic understanding of AI models
