Responsibilities For Senior Staff Database Engineer
- Design and maintain scalable operational and reporting database systems, including data modeling and ETL processes
- Lead architectural design discussions for multi-cloud environment
- Manage SQL Server environments, including installation, backup, recovery, upgrades, and schema changes
- Architect Azure-based solutions using services like Azure Data Factory
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues while optimizing performance
- Build and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL pipelines
- Mentor and coach junior and senior engineers
- Collaborate with stakeholders for database solutions
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Stay current with emerging database technologies
Requirements For Senior Staff Database Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in large-scale database systems, particularly on Azure
- Expertise in SQL, SQL Server, T-SQL, MySQL, PL/SQL, and Python
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and database architecture
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and observability platforms
- Proven leadership in mentoring engineers
- Solid programming background with object-oriented languages and UNIX environments
- Ability to architect cloud-native solutions
- Strategic mindset for complex problem-solving
- Availability for on-call rotations
