Responsibilities For Geotechnical Engineer or Engineer-in-Training

  • Perform regular geotechnical inspections of mining areas
  • Manage and interpret geotechnical data
  • Perform stability analyses for rock slopes, waste dumps, and soil stockpiles
  • Coordinate site geotechnical field programs
  • Coordinate and review work by external geotechnical consultants
  • Contribute to geotechnical projects and scheduling
  • Support geotechnical drilling programs

Requirements For Geotechnical Engineer or Engineer-in-Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering, Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology
  • Registered or eligible to register with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and relevant geotechnical software
  • Recent geotechnical role at an open pit mining operation is an asset
