Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a Senior Engineer, Mechanical for their Line Creek Operations in British Columbia. As part of the Glencore Group, EVR operates four steelmaking coal mines employing over 5,000 people in the Elk Valley. The role reports to the Senior Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for providing engineering support for operations, maintenance, project management, and reliability functions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and robust problem-solving capabilities. They should be team-oriented with a strong focus on safety and personal responsibility. Responsibilities For Senior Engineer, Mechanical

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Apply engineering principals to identify, scope and deliver projects
  • Establish & manage project objectives and performance measures
  • Control project costs and schedule
  • Coordinate with stakeholders within management and operational teams
  • Manage coordination of personnel, consultants, and contractors
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical systems
  • Develop and improve equipment maintenance strategies
  • Participate in asset strategy reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor Engineers-in-Training and Engineers

Requirements For Senior Engineer, Mechanical

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Eligible for registration as a P.Eng with EGBC
  • Minimum six years experience in processing or manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Condition Monitoring techniques, RCM, FMEA, and RCA
  • Experience with condition-based monitoring techniques
  • SolidWorks or AutoCad proficiency
  • Previous experience in mineral processing is an asset
