Design Engineer (Mobile)

As a Design Engineer (Mobile), you'll work directly with the Co-founder & CTO in a small team of less than 10 people, focusing on creating seamless front-end experiences for mobile platforms. The role bridges design and engineering, requiring both technical expertise and design sensibility. You'll own feature development end-to-end, sometimes acting as your own product manager.

The company, headquartered in San Francisco with offices in São Paulo, Nairobi, and New York, comprises around 45 people with expertise from institutions like Stanford, Berkeley, Google, and Apple. Backed by prominent investors including Goodwater Capital, Reed Hastings, and Khosla Ventures, Ello emphasizes diversity and inclusion in their culture.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000-$210,000 plus equity, with relocation assistance available. You'll be working in-person at their San Francisco office, contributing to their mission of maximizing the potential of all children through AI-powered education solutions. The role requires strong technical foundations in mobile development, particularly with Flutter or Android (Java/Kotlin), combined with UI/UX design skills.
