ELPEDISON, Greece's pioneering independent energy utility, is seeking an Energy Management Portfolio Engineer to join their digital transformation initiative. This role combines energy market expertise with data analysis, offering a unique opportunity in the power sector. The position is based in Athens with a hybrid work arrangement.

The role involves managing the company's portfolio in natural gas and power spot markets, requiring expertise in market analysis, forecasting, and real-time trading. You'll be responsible for executing short-term forecasting, monitoring market conditions, and optimizing trading strategies across Day Ahead, Intraday, and Balancing markets.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in the Electric Power sector, strong analytical capabilities, and expertise in data analysis. A BSc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Applied Economics is required, along with advanced English skills and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and VBA.

Responsibilities For Energy Management Portfolio Engineer

  • Execute Short-term Forecasting by analyzing market data and running simulations
  • Execute company's sales Strategy of wholesale Day Ahead/Intraday/Balancing Power Markets
  • Monitor real-time marketplace for optimal reaction
  • Conduct hourly purchase and sales transactions
  • Monitor dispatch operations results
  • Monitor contractual arrangements and market conditions
  • Develop scenarios for market outcomes
  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports on market results
  • Communicate information to internal and external parties
  • Improve market models and algorithms
  • Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements For Energy Management Portfolio Engineer

Python
  • BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Applied Economics
  • 2-3 years of relevant working experience in Electric Power sector
  • In-depth working knowledge of Statistics & Technical Analysis
  • Advanced level of English
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and VBA
  • Strong analytical skills
