Description For DevOps Engineer II

Emburse is seeking a DevOps Engineer II to join their team in Spain. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and availability of Emburse's systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and DevOps practices, with at least 5 years of experience in an engineering role.

As a DevOps Engineer II, you'll be responsible for developing software and implementing fixes to integrate internal systems. Your primary focus will be on maintaining code quality, deploying updates, and monitoring server health and stability. You'll work on creating and automating deployment systems, scripting in languages like Bash, Shell, and Python, and managing incidents.

Key responsibilities include site availability and incident response, creating tools to simplify the software development lifecycle, optimizing distributed systems, and mentoring associate developers. You'll also be accountable for post-incident documentation and communicating technical details to both engineering and non-engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, experience with tools like Ansible and Terraform, and knowledge of JIRA and scripting languages such as Java and Python. Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer II

  • Site availability and incident response
  • Monitoring, reacting, building and automating code deployment systems
  • Create deployment systems and tools that simplify development work for Chrome River's SDLC as it relates to infrastructure
  • Scripting, networking, some db functionality, reading writing and optimizing highly distributed systems
  • Scripting in: Bash, Shell, Python will be used daily
  • Monitoring and reporting of issues/incidents
  • Be an advocate for reliability, scalability and system availability
  • Accountable for post-incident documentation
  • Monitoring and providing remediation of production incidents
  • Provides high level technical synopsis, sharing technical details for incidents in Slack
  • Communicating daily with engineers and non-engineering resources
  • Manages Sev2 incidents
  • Mentoring associate developers in best practices on all aspects of reliability, scalability and high availability

Requirements For DevOps Engineer II

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering role required
  • Working knowledge of Ansible and Terraform tools highly desirable
  • Experience with JIRA, scripting languages like Java and Python, programming, knowledge of enterprise-level applications, basic accounting knowledge highly preferred
