Description For Counter Unmanned Aircraft System Software Engineer

EMW, Inc. is seeking a Senior Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) Software Engineer to join their team in The Hague, Netherlands. This is a contract position running from January 6, 2025, to December 31, 2025, requiring NATO SECRET clearance. The role involves developing and evaluating cutting-edge C-UAS technologies, working with NATO standards, and supporting critical defense initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring expert-level knowledge in C-UAS technologies, UAS systems, and airborne electronic warfare. You'll work with various programming languages including Java, JavaScript, Python, and specialized tools like GnuRadio and Matlab. This position offers an opportunity to work on significant defense projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across NATO.

Key responsibilities include developing technical requirements for C-UAS acquisition projects, prototyping and evaluating technologies, and providing strategic input for NATO's C-UAS solutions. You'll need strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience with modern development practices including DevOps.

  • Expert knowledge of C-UAS technologies
  • Expert level knowledge of C-UAS software components including TAK plugin development and NATO Standards
  • Expert level knowledge of UAS systems and communication protocols
  • Expert level knowledge of airborne electronic warfare technologies
  • Experience with source control systems and DevOps (GitHub, TFS)
  • Experience with NATO procurement process
  • University qualification in electrical engineering or computer science
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years of extensive expertise if no university degree
