Description For Systems Engineer (CIS Security)

EMW, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in CIS Security to join their team in a crucial role supporting NATO operations. This position requires managing NIMSC CIS security matters with a focus on maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of operational business networks. The role combines technical expertise in security architecture, vulnerability assessment, and system accreditation with strategic planning and team coordination.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the NATO Cyber Security Centre to develop and implement security architectures for large-scale systems. They will be responsible for overseeing critical security operations, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security monitoring programs. The position offers an opportunity to work in an international environment with both military and civilian elements.

This role requires an active NATO SECRET security clearance and strong technical expertise in network security, including experience with IPv4/IPv6, IPsec, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. The successful candidate will have relevant certifications (CISA, CISSP, or CISM) and experience in security architecture and governance.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer (CIS Security)

  • Support technical development activities for NIMSC operational business networks security
  • Plan and coordinate security architectures development with NATO Cyber Security Centre
  • Provide recommendations for security architecture development
  • Resolve security requirement conflicts
  • Coordinate with systems and network administrators
  • Review network interconnection and user access requests
  • Oversee vulnerability assessment and penetration tests
  • Support security accreditation processes
  • Contribute to CIS Security Risk and Issue Register
  • Plan, deploy, and configure hardware, software, and security products
  • Conduct INFOSEC training and awareness programmes
  • Contribute to Business Continuity Plan

Requirements For Systems Engineer (CIS Security)

Linux
  • Active NATO SECRET security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security related discipline
  • CISA, CISSP, or CISM certification
  • Experience in system security, security architecture, network security engineering
  • Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, IPsec, routing protocols, Firewalls, VPNs, IDS
  • Experience with high-availability/redundant systems architectures
  • Knowledge of PKI and securing network devices
  • Experience with WLAN technologies and endpoint security
