Description For Lifting Engineer (Dayshift)

EnerMech is a leading specialist engineering services company focused on complex energy and infrastructure projects. We're seeking a Lifting Engineer for our UK's Low Carbon Nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset. This permanent dayshift position reports to the Lifting Site Manager and plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient lifting operations.

The role involves comprehensive lift planning, supervision, and compliance oversight. You'll be responsible for supporting lifting superintendents, managing inspections, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to lifting standards and regulations. Key responsibilities include interface with project teams, planning and coordinating lifting operations, compliance auditing, and maintaining detailed site logs.

The ideal candidate will possess CPCS and ECITB certifications, demonstrating expertise in lifting operations. You should have significant experience on major construction sites, strong knowledge of UK regulations, and proven leadership abilities. Experience with AutoCAD, logistics management, and temporary works processes is essential.

Responsibilities For Lifting Engineer (Dayshift)

  • Lift planning assurance and process oversight of lifting operations at HPC
  • Support and develop lifting superintendents
  • Recording of lifting inspections and follow up of non-conformances
  • Assist in contractor audits to ensure compliance
  • Planning, review and approval of internal and external SSOW's (Lifting Operations Lift Plans)
  • In-field governance ensuring lift operations are planned and executed accordingly
  • Interface and technical support to Project teams
  • Compliance auditing of Sub-contractors lifting procedures
  • Chair/attend planning meetings with key stakeholders

Requirements For Lifting Engineer (Dayshift)

  • CPCS Appointed Persons Blue card (Competent Operator)
  • CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Blue Card)
  • ECITB Appointed Person certification
  • Experience with AutoCAD/MS Office
  • Ability to read and interpret General Arrangement drawings
  • Significant experience on major construction sites
  • Experience in Heavy Lift and General Lifting Operations
  • Supervisory experience in lifting operations
  • Knowledge of Logistics & Transport management
  • Knowledge of UK regulations (LOLER, PUWER, HSWA)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Report writing skills
