Description For Human Machine Interface Engineer

EpiSci is at the forefront of tactical mission autonomy, developing cutting-edge technologies for defense, aerospace, and commercial applications. As a Human Machine Interface Engineer, you'll be instrumental in creating sophisticated web applications that control autonomous aircraft systems, including UAVs and F16s.

The role combines frontend expertise with real-world impact, as you'll be developing interfaces that bridge human operators with advanced autonomous systems. You'll work with state-of-the-art web technologies, implementing map-based interfaces and real-time control systems that are crucial for mission success.

This position offers unique opportunities to collaborate with various stakeholders, from autonomy engineers to DoD warfighters and government customers. You'll be involved in the full development lifecycle, from building frontend applications to deploying solutions using Docker and supporting live flight tests.

The ideal candidate brings strong frontend development experience, particularly with React and modern JavaScript frameworks, combined with an interest in robotics and autonomous systems. You'll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly, and be willing to travel occasionally for demonstrations and deployments.

EpiSci offers competitive compensation ranging from $110,000 to $160,000 based on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits. The company strongly values diversity and encourages applications from candidates who might not meet every qualification but are passionate about the mission.

As a U.S. citizen eligible for a SECRET security clearance, you'll be working on projects that directly impact national security capabilities. The hybrid work environment near Eglin Air Force Base in Destin, FL, provides an excellent balance of flexibility and collaboration.

This role represents an opportunity to be at the cutting edge of autonomous systems development, working with a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in tactical AI and human-machine interfaces.
