This role combines extensive technical expertise with leadership responsibilities in the Department of Defense (DoD)/U.S. Navy facility design and construction domain.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, requiring weekly on-site meetings. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team of professionals across various locations, including Arlington, VA, and Indian Head, MD.

As a Subject Matter Expert, you'll lead design teams in modernizing and constructing state-of-the-art facilities for research, development, testing, and evaluation of energetics and explosives ordnance. Your expertise in DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NAVSEA Instructions, and building codes will be crucial in ensuring project success.

The ideal candidate brings 20+ years of experience, demonstrating mastery across multiple engineering disciplines including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, fire protection, and civil engineering.   • Oversee engineering design teams for construction and renovation projects
  • Ensure designs conform to DoD UFC, NAVSEA Instructions, and relevant standards
  • Review submittals according to DoD, U.S. Navy, and ERG requirements
  • Fulfill client expectations for quality, schedule, and cost
  • Oversee post-construction award services when required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 20+ years of relevant experience
  • Subject-matter expertise in DoD UFCs, U.S. Navy Instructions, building codes
  • Strong management skills
  • Experience with design-bid-build construction projects
  • Expertise in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, fire protection, and civil engineering
  • Experience with vertical new construction and building renovation
  • Professional certification or license preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance
